ARCHITECTURE
A rarely seen beach house by Finn Juhl on the rugged northern coast of Denmark shows the architect’s genius for holistic design in a new light. The simple house cast a spell over the owner who embarked on a renovation project that honoured Juhl rather than worshipped him, making a liveable holiday home not a temple.
“HIS DESIGN IS A DIALOGUE BETWEEN INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. HE KNEW EXACTLY WHERE TO SITE THIS HOUSE, WHERE THE WIND CAME FROM, NOTHING WAS LEFT TO CHANCE.”
